Hatching in Sectional View and Cut-Out (3-D)

3-D Standard > Tools > Attr. > Hatch section + cut-out

You can define an individual hatching per component and view for those section surfaces that result from sections, cut-outs or detail areas. Make the settings you want and click OK to exit the dialogue window.

The dialogue window consists of the following areas:

Settings

Pattern according to drawing setting

For pattern, distance and angle of the cut surfaces, the corresponding settings of the view will be used.

Individual

  • Hatch pattern
  • According to material
If a material for which HiCAD knows the corresponding hatch pattern has been assigned to the part, this pattern will be used; otherwise, the hatch pattern of the view will be used.
  • Take over from view
The hatch pattern of the view is used.
  • Choose pattern
You select the hatch pattern explicitly.
  • Distance/Angle

Take over from view /Value input

Spacing between and angle of the hatching lines can either be taken over from the view or defined on an individual basis. If the values are specified individually, the angle distinguishes between non-oriented and oriented hatching.

Take over from part

Click this button to apply the settings of an existing part, i.e. the settings that you assigned to the part using the Hatch section + cut-out function, to the dialogue window.

Apply to

Part (without sub-parts)

The settings only apply to section surfaces of the active part only, i.e.not its sub-parts.

Assembly (with sub-parts)

The settings apply to the section surfaces of the whole assembly, i.e. the active part and its sub-parts.

Active view

Section surfaces of the active part (assembly) are only displayed in the active view, in line with the selected settings.

All views

The section surfaces are displayed in all views, in line with the selected settings.

Default setting for new views

Activate the checkbox if you also want the selected settings to be taken into account in subsequently created views.

Specify the required settings and exit the dialogue window with OK.

An exact representation of hatchings is only provided in the representation modes Hidden Line dashed and Glass model. In all other cases a simplified representation of hatchings will be shown, i.e. lines are always continuous and have the same spacing.
