Dependent Part (3-D)

3-D Standard > New > > Others > Dependent part

Use this function to insert parts that already exist in the drawing and

as new parts:

The original part is a referenced part.

In contrast to other insertion functions for referenced parts, the new part will not be saved as a referenced part in the part structure of the current drawing, but only in the feature log. There, a feature with the name Dependent part will be created.

The original part is not a referenced part and has a HELiOS article master.

No article master will be assigned to the new part here, but a feature with the name Dependent part will be created. The part obtains the name of the document master of the original part in the part structure.

All subsequent changes to the dependent part, e.g. bores, mirroring or scaling, will be added in the log as new features.

If the original part changes, the associated dependent part will be updated first during feature recalculation; only afterwards will the other actions of the feature log be applied to the updated part.

Conversely, changes to a dependent part will not affect the corresponding original part.

Alternatively, you can access this function via the the context menu for assemblies and parts (New > Dependent part).
