3-D Standard > Tools > Att... > Layer
Use this function to assign the active object to a layer. Available are layer numbers from 0 to 999. By default, layer number 49 is reserved for dimensionings. Element on layer 0 are regarded as invisible and will not be shown.
Please note:
If you are using the Feature log, the layer can also be set via the feature parameter Visualisation (Default: -1). If a value of ≥ 0 has been entered here, HiCAD will always use the layer specified in the Feature log for recalculations, even if a different layer has been specified for the part properties. If the feature parameter Visualisation has been set to -1, the layer specified for the part properties will not be changed in case of a feature recalculation.
3D-Standard > Tools > Att... >Transparent (Layer40)
Use this function to assign the active part to layer 40. Parts on this layer are regarded as transparent.
3D-Standard > Tools > Att... > Transparency
Use this function to determine when a part in the currently active view will be regarded as transparent.
The following three options are available:
The part will be, independent of its layer, displayed transparent. Here, "transparency" is not synonymous with the assigning to layer 40, i.e. if you use this function to assign the property "Transparent" to a part, its layer will not be changed.
The representation of the part is determined by the layer. If the part is located on layer 40, it will be transparent. Otherwise, its transparency will be removed.
The part will not be displayed transparent, even if it is located on layer 40.
