Polygon (2-D)

2-D Geometry > Draw > Rectangle

The options of the Polygon menu enable you to generate rectangles, hexagons, octagons or n-gons. All parts form a closed polyline in the data structure.

Function

Description

Example

This function enables you to draw rectangles using sketch technology.

Pull-down menu Rectangle

To generate any axially parallel rectangle, specify the top left and bottom right corners.

This function creates a rectangle if an angle of rotation and sketch technology are entered.

  1. Draw the rectangle using sketch technology.
  2. Choose the angle for the translation.
  3. Place the rectangle on the angle (you can change the translation angle again).

The hexagon is drawn if you enter the width across flats (that is the diameter of the internal circle of the hexagon), the midpoint and an angle of rotation.

The width across flats (i.e. the diameter of the internal circle of the hexagon), the midpoint and the angle of rotation define the dimensions of an octagon.

You use this function to generate a regular n-gon.

  1. Specify the number of vertices.
  2. Specify the width across flats (diameter of the internal circle) of the n-gon.
  3. Specify the midpoint and an angle of rotation.
