Parallel (2-D)

Use the functions of the Parallel menu to generate parallels to already existing graphical elements.

The parallel is generated on the side on which you identify the graphic element. To access the pop-up menu, select the icon by right-clicking it..

Example

This function enables you to define a parallel or a circular arc by specifying a distance. The reference line must be identified on the side on which you want the parallel to be located.

Pull-down menu Parallel

This function enables you to generate any number of parallels to a reference line. The orientation of the parallels is defined by identifying the reference line near the start point. You then specify the start points of the parallels.

This function enables you to generate a parallel to a line or a circular arc level with an existing point. First identify the reference line and then the point.

 

You generate parallels to polylines by identifying a reference polyline and specifying the distance.

You generate contours by identifying the start and end points and entering the distance. The original does not need to be structurally connected, but can be specified as any contour.

You can choose another distance for any individual graphical element. If you do, HiCAD draws a parallel element using the distance entered and prompts for a new distance, offering the last value.

This function enables you to generate parallels that begin in the sub-points of a contour. The start and end points define the direction, orientation and length of the parallels. You then identify the contour by means of the contour beginning and the contour end.

The parallels are then cut at right angles at the end point, which means that they have different lengths

You use this function to generate parallel ellipses. Identify the reference ellipse and enter the distance. Note that the parallel element that is now created is not an ellipse, but a polyline.
