Discontinued Dimension Line (2-D)

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Edit > Extras > Linear dimension, axially parallel

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Edit > Extras > Half-section dimension

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Edit > Extras > Half-section dimension (diameter)

Theses functions enable you to generate dimensions whose actual base point is no longer in the drawing.

You can apply the function to 

• Linear dimensions, axially parallel  
• Half-section dimensions  
• Half-section dimensions (diameter)

The procedure is identical.

1. Specify the base point difference in dimensioning direction.
2. Identify the reference point and the second dimension point.
3. Specify a point for placing the dimension figure.

As long as the function is active, the difference is not queried again. If the difference has already been offered once, it is offered for the next query and can be accepted by pressing RETURN. You can use the Change dimension base point difference function to subsequently correct the difference.
