2-D Geometry > Draw > Ellipse > Ellipse
You construct an ellipse by defining various points.
Once you have entered the end point, the ellipse arc is drawn.
The ellipse arc is uniquely defined by the first three points. The specified end point is projected and the modified end point used. The possible ellipse arcs are made available; you start with the positively oriented one.
(1) Start point
(2) Centre point
(3) Point on the diameter
(4) Specified end point
(5) Calculated end point
2-D Geometry > Draw > Sketch ellipse
When using sketch technology to create an ellipse, the system first draws a full ellipse and then defines the end point for the ellipse arc. Press the middle mouse button to apply the full ellipse.
2-D Geometry > Draw > Ellipse > Ellipse to arcs
2-D Geometry > Draw > Ellipse > Ellipse to arc (all in part)
These functions enable you to split ellipses into circular arcs once they have been identified.
The colours identify the individual circular arcs
