HELiOS Spooler and HiCAD Spooler run on a separate Plot Server system.
The Plot Server is a PC, a server or a workstation on which no other HiCAD version has been installed. The advantages of using a workstation as a special Plot Server are that the actual server will be less heavily utilized and that the engineers will have easy access to the Plot Server if required.
In the case of a mixed operation of HELiOS and HiCAD, the HiCAD Spooler will be accessed by the HELiOS Spooler. Notes on the installation of the HELiOS Spooler, which must be running on the same system as the HELiOS Spooler, can be found in the HELiOS OnlineHelp.
To install the HiCAD Spooler, start Windows. If Windows has already been opened, close all other applications. Insert the DVD in your DVD drive (or mount an ISO image with "Virtual Clonedrive" http://www.slysoft.com/de/virtual-clonedrive.html or a similar tool. Please note however that the ISD does not assume any responsibility for the utilization of such tools). Normally, the start window for the installation will be displayed automatically. If this is not the case (Autorun inactive), start SETUP.CMD from the DVD.
Click the Standard Edition button. The selection mask for the software components will then be displayed.
First, install the HiCAD Spooler on the Plot Server. This is a HiCAD version without user interface, which enables the server to convert HiCAD drawings into plot files.
Click Next until the installation begins. No changing of the default settings will be required here. It is recommended to install the HiCAD Spooler to the directory C:\HiCAD Spooler\.
In Windows, select Start > All Programs > ISD Software und Systeme GmbH > HiCAD Spooler
start the HICADControl.exe program in the installation of the HiCAD Spooler.
The control window will be displayed:
Click Start HiCAD Spooler 
, which starts the program.
If the display changes as shown below, the start was successful:
If desired, you can also export the HELiOS attributes shown in the ICN when performing an (automatic) 3-D interface export (Step, 3D-PDF) via Plot Manager or the HiCAD Spooler.
For this to happen, you need to adjust the system file brw_3dinterface.hdb in the \sys\ directory of your HiCAD Spooler installation as follows:
