HELiOS Spooler (Plot Management)

The HELiOS Spooler controls the output of documents to printers and plotters centrally.

Print and plot jobs are configured by the HELiOS PrintClient and then transferred to the HELiOS Spooler for execution. It is not necessary for the HELiOS PrintClient to be installed on the Spooler Server, as it is installed at the individual workstations.

The HELiOS Spooler manages the plot jobs of the individual PrintClients.

Use the Spooler to

• specify the settings for output formats,
• determine the parameters for output devices, and
• record print/plot jobs.

Print jobs are executed by the Spooler as follows:

1. A print job is passed to the HELiOS PrintClient from the HELiOS Desktop or HiCAD.
2. Print/plot jobs, configured by the HELiOS PrintClient, are sent to the HELiOS Spooler. 
3. The HELiOS Spooler supervises and processes the print jobs.

The HELiOS Spooler manages the transfer of all information to the output devices. An output device need not be installed on a HELiOS PrintClient workstation.

Print and plot jobs are transferred to and executed by the Spooler.
