Enter Links

Input > Links > Input

This function enables you to create links of files. By specifying the link designation, you can determine which file classes are to be linked.

Open the Input tab and select Links > Input . The Enter links dialogue window will be displayed.

If you called this function via the context menu of an entry, only possible links will be listed in the Designation field.

Select one of the defined links from the Designation drop-down list:

These three, release-relevant link types form, with the linking of article master +geometry, article master + drawing, and geometry + drawing, the so-called "CAD triangle".

Use the Define links function to specify further link types. Link type, release-relevance, source class, target class etc. will be inserted in the appropriate fields.

The Document or Article tab will be opened, depending on the definition of source and target class.

Documents (or articles, respectively) will be shown in the lists, depending on the settings in Extras. Mark the documents (or articles) that you want to link in the lists. Select Add and confirm with OK to create the link.

Objects can also be dragged from the result lists into the Link Source / Link Target tab of the document or article mask via Drag & Drop. A selection dialogue will be displayed, offering possible link types for the selected objects. The list will be updated subsequently.

If you right-click in the above-mentioned tabs on an empty space in the list, the dialogue for link creation will be opened, enabling you to insert a new link.
