Pre-Allocate Links via Templates

Input > Links > Templates

The Templates function in the Links function group of the Input tab opens the Pre-allocate links via templates mask.

This mask is composed of three areas: Pre-allocation, Source, Pre-allocation, Target , and, in the middle between these two areas, a list showing the defined links.

Select the links for which you want to define pre-allocations. In the upper list, the existing pre-allocations for the link sources are displayed, whereas the lower list shows the existing pre-allocations for existing link targets.

Proceed as follows to enter a pre-allocation for a link source or a link target: Select the New button next to the appropriate pre-allocation list. The document search mask or the article search mask will be displayed, depending on the link type. Select one or several master data objects in the mask and activate the Apply button. The selected master data will now appear in the result list.

To delete an existing pre-allocation, select the relevant record from the pre-allocation list and activate Delete. Answer the query with Yes to confirm the deletion of the pre-allocation. As a multiple selection from the pre-allocation list is possible, you can also delete several pre-allocations at once.

If you have opened the Link sources or Link tab in the display mask for documents or articles, you can drag objects into these tabs and link them. You can also link objects using the RMB.

You can then select between a link with a new object (document or article) or with an object that already exists in the database. Select the Existing document (or Existing article) function to open the dialogue needed for the creation of links via search mask. If you choose New document (or New article), a selection dialogue offering possible links (considering the specified source class and target class by restricting links to these classes).

After selecting a link it will be checked in the database whether there are one or several templates this link. If there are several templates, a selection window will be displayed. After selecting the template, a copy of this template will be entered into the database. If there is no template, a new entry has to be made. For documents, the dialogue for template file selection will be displayed, followed by the data input mask. For articles, the input mask will be displayed immediately.
