Folder Workflows

A Folder Workflows is a special type of Role Workflow which offers a number of additional configuration options.

Role Workflows offer the option to distinguish between Mandatory/Optional documents. In the case of mandatory documents, some test steps require a particular document for their completion.

Mandatory documents can not only be configured within individual test steps , but also within Folder Workflows.
Here, you cannot pass the Folder on to the next step or release it until the required mandatory document is available.
The configuration is carried out via the Action lists with the two 'Mandatory' options Create folder document and Create sub-folder.

Furthermore, Folder Workflows allow the configuration of so-called Test statuses. This is carried out via Roles > Test statuses in EDBSETUP.exe. The function call is only possible after loading a Role Workflow. If no Role Workflow is loaded, the function is deactivated.

If a Folder Role Workflow is loaded, you can select different test steps via the Select folder status field of the dialogue window. The Workflow of folder elements field shows you all available Folder Role Workflows.

In addition, you can assign Sub-Workflows to Folder Role Workflows. These can be called, out of test steps, as predefined Sub-Workflows (this is also exclusively possible for Role Workflows).
This can, for instance, be useful if an additional document is required for the approval of a test step, e.g. In Progress. This document can then be called, out of this test step, as a Sub-Workflow which is independent from the main Workflow, or a message about its status is sent to the Users of the appropriate Roles.

To configure these Workflows right-click a Workflow status and select Callable Workflows. In the displayed dialogue, select Folders for Object type. In the Workflow area (bottom left) you can now assign the desired Folder Workflow, from the Available field: Select the required entry and click the "-->" arrow.
