User Master Data

EDBSETUP.EXE > User > User > Master data

If you want to add new users or change existing ones, select User > User > Master data.

After saving, the initial mask will be displayed again, enabling you to assign the new user to groups and grant rights.

If the user has been assigned to several groups, you can specify one of them as the default group with which the user is always signed on. The marked group will be selected as the default group after saving. The group will be indicated by an asterisk.

You can also change the status of a user. The status specifies the rights of the individual group members, independent of the rights of the group.

You are returned to the initial mask after saving and you can then grant access authorisations (permissions), so-called User functions, to the user. These functions specify if an object may be viewed, created, changed or deleted.

The object name is shown in front of the authorisations. In this case the objects are either predefined or customised workflows that determine the process chain of an object, e.g. HiCAD 3-D drawings. These access functions are only valid if an access right has been granted for World in the workflow.

You have now created a new user, granted rights and assigned a group to him.

Use the Copy button in the User Management  dialogue to copy the currently selected user, together with all his/her group memberships and permissions. In the next dialogue window for User Properties , change the designation in the Name field and confirm with OK. A copy with the new name will then be created and appears in the selection.
