Girder Connection - Beam to Web (3-D SE)

"Civil Engineering functions" docking window > Steel Engineering > Connections > Front side to web/flange side > Front plate > Beam to web with 2 plates + stiffener (211)

Use this function to connect two beams through two plates and one stiffener. The extended axes of the beams need to intersect.

Example

  1. Identify the two beams that you want to connect.
  2. The connection dialogue window is displayed.
  3. In the User-defined section at the top left of the dialogue, select the required configuration.

The input fields contain pre-set values depending on the selected configuration and can be corrected if required. Please note however that the editing of the fields depends on the respective type indicator!

The connecting plate on the first beam can be fitted flush (projection 0), or with top, bottom or lateral projection.

The second connecting plate can be front-mounted or inserted.

If you select the Inserted option, the plate will be fitted flush with its outer contour into the beam to which the connection is made. The plate size is determined by the insertion depth and the lateral projection.

If you select the Front-mounted option, the plate is welded to the outer edge of the beam. Front-mounted plates can be fitted with projection or flush.

If you activate the Height = (full) stiffener height checkbox, the second connecting plate and the stiffener will have the same height.

  1. Click OK to create the connection according to the current settings.

The first connecting plate and the bolting will be assigned to the assembly of the first beam, the second connecting plate and the stiffener to the assembly of the second beam.
