Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing > BOM
A Bill of Materials (BOM) provides information about the parts that a product consists of, specifying the quantity, the description, the item and other information. This makes the BOM a central means of communication for all instances involved in the production process
HiCAD requires parts that are to be listed in the BOM to be marked as relevant to the BOM. This ID is assigned automatically when steel engineering parts are fitted. If your construction also contains other parts, you will need to assign this ID manually when using HiCAD without HELiOS. To do this, you use the Part attributes function in the Properties menu. If, however, you are using the PDM system HELiOS in parallel, the ID is assigned automatically when part master data is assigned.
The same functions and settings as for other 2-D and 3-D parts are available for creating BOMs:
Operation is similar.
There is one special feature, however, that you need to bear in mind:
A trim ID can be output for beam trims in BOMs. The attributes
are available for this.
A string which identifies the trim of beams is output, e.g.
To use these IDs in your BOMs, you need to change the Report Manager settings accordingly! For further information please refer to the Report Manager Online Help chapter.
