Extensive information on the Catalogue Editor can be found in the corresponding chapter of the Online Help. As the part structure in steel engineering is now similar to the standard mechanical engineering structuring, there are no special procedures.
If you have already used CATEDITOR.EXE to assign HELiOS part masters to the catalogue parts - connecting media, semi-finished pproducts etc. - they are assigned to the parts during fitting; as before. Beams are assigned the annotation "Raw material part master".
During automatic itemising, a part master that has already been assigned is, in principle, retained. This means that bolts/washers/nuts keep their part master from WINNORMDB3.
If, however, parts have the annotation "Raw material part master", it is replaced by a new part master.
You can use the Master part attributes for Itemisation function to configure transfer of raw material attribute values such as semi-finished product part number, strength etc. to the new part master.
The Itemisation/Identical part search function retains the user-defined part master, as long as the identical part search does not require a new part master allocation. For example, the part master of fasteners is preserved.
