P+ID > Symbol > Edit
To modify symbols, click the Others icon of the Symbol function group on the P+ID tab. A pull-down menu with the following functions opens:

Edit several symbols |
Use this function to change data mask contents for several symbols of a P+ID project at once. |

Individual In rectangle Sheet |
Use this function to replace symbols by copying a selected reference symbol. |

Assigns a gauge symbol to a symbol of the type General type or Pipe part. |

Assigns a drive symbol to a symbol of the type General type or Pipe part. |

Invoke this option to insert a connecting point in a symbol that has at least one free connection dialogue, i.e. in this case, "free" means that a connecting point to which a connection dialogue has been assigned does not yet exist.

|
Move connecting point |
Connections on the moved connections are retained. If the connections are askew after the moving, you are able to decide whether you want to temporarily retain or delete them. |

Rotate connecting point |
Select the appropriate connecting point with the cross-hairs. You can now specify the new orientation for the connection in the dialogue box that appears on your screen. |

Delete connecting point |
Select the appropriate connecting point with the cross-hairs. HiCAD deletes associated text from the drawing. |
|
Part information |
If a part has been assigned to a symbol in the P+ID, you can use this function to display the part attributes. |

HELiOS part master data |
If a part has been assigned to a symbol in the P+ID, you can use this function to display or process the part master data, links, Worklflow etc. |

This function enables you to copy, from a given reference symbol, the text parameters of named text points originating from data mask dialogues, including relative position and orientation (relating to the symbol), to individual symbols, symbols in a box or all symbols on a sheet. |

|
Use these functions to change the width or the representation of a gauge symbol. |
