Foil (3-D ME)

To be able to insert a foil, you need to be in an active 3-D sectional view. Within this sectional view, create a Sketch with the edge contour along which you want to place the foil.

Click the Foil icon in the Metal Eng. 3-D Section function group of the Ribbon. A dialogue window with the following fitting options will be displayed:

Type: Select between Provided on site(mortar, concrete) or In-house production.
Permeability: Select between Steam-tight and Steam-permeable .
Comment: Empty input field for comments on the sealing.

Below the selection fields you can specify via the corresponding checkbox whether you want the foils to be BOM-relevant.

At the bottom of the dialogue you can open a pane with extended setting options. Here you can specify the Foil thickness and the Fillet radius , and, if desired, exclude the profile axis and axis end pints from the representation.

After confirming with OK , HiCAD will prompt you to specify, for each composite edge segment of the identified sketch, the Fitting direction of the foil. The foil will be inserted into the section accordingly, and will later also be displayed in the complete construction.
