Metal Construction Plugin (Metal Engineering)

The Grid functionality of the Metal Construction Plugin allows a rapid creation of customised facade contours and the adding of beams with only a few mouse clicks.

In HiCAD the examples Ridge roof and Polygon facade are available (stored in the HiCAD Catalogue). Select the required example from the Base type list box in the Metal Construction window (in the Plugin Navigator on the right hand side).

In the Configuration field you can enter the names of the sample facades you created, which are then saved and can be loaded again at any time.
Use the buttons at the bottom of the Plugin Navigator window to Apply or Save changes, create a New configuration, or save it under a new name with Save , new.

Use the Select sketch function to adapt the facade contour to a drawn sketch (in top view). Call the function, identify the sketch and, after generating the facade, modify the dimensional parameters etc. in the Plugin Navigator if required.

Please note: You can use the PFDefault.xml file in the \Sys\ directory of your HiCAD Installation to set default parameters which will be active when you start the Grid plugin.
