Change Length (3-D SM)

The functions of the Change length function group enables you to lengthen sheets and bend zones as required or to shorten them by a negative value. You can lengthen sheets in sheet direction and in coordinate direction. If you lengthen sheets in coordinate direction, the values refer to the active coordinate system.

Right-click a sheet to open a context menu containing the functions for the changing of sheet lengths. You will then no longer be prompted to make an identification.

 

Change length
Lengthen flange in sheet direction, via 2 points Lengthens a flange or bend zone in sheet direction via 2 points.
Pull-down menu Flange
Lengthen flange in X-direction, via 2 points Lengthens a flange or bend zone in X-direction via 2 points.
Lengthen flange in Y-direction, via 2 points Lengthens a flange or bend zone in Z-direction via 2 points.
Lengthen flange in Z-direction, via 2 points Lengthens a flange or bend zone in Y-direction via 2 points.
Lengthen flange in sheet direction, via value Lengthens a flange or bend zone in sheet direction by specifying a value.
Lengthen flange in X-direction, via value Lengthens a flange or bend zone in X-direction by specifying a value.
Lengthen flange in X-direction, via value Lengthens a flange or bend zone in Y-direction by specifying a value.
Lengthen flange in X-direction, via value Lengthens a flange or bend zone in Z-direction by specifying a value.
 
Lengthen entire sheet in sheet direction, via 2 points Lengthens sheets, bend zones and flanges lying in a plane in sheet direction via two points, in one step.
Pull-down menu Sheet
Lengthen entire sheet in sheet direction, via value Lengthens sheets, bend zones and flanges lying in a plane in sheet direction by specifying a value, in one step.

 

Procedure for lengthening in sheet direction via value input:

  1. Identify the edge of the sheet that you want to be lengthened.
  2. Enter the extension amount.

 

If you enter a 0, you can move the surface dynamically.

Procedure for lengthening via two points:

  1. Identify the edge of the sheet that you want to be lengthened.
  2. Specify two points for defining the change in length.

(1) Lengthening via points, first point
(2) Lengthening via points, second point

(3) Lengthened in y-direction via two points
(4) Lengthened in sheet direction via value input
(5) Lengthened in z-direction via value input
