PDM > Project
Projects have the highest priority in the HELiOS database structure. They allow a clearly structured sorting and arrangement of drawings (documents and parts). You can, for instance, collect all drawings of one year within a project. It is also possible to sort according to departments, workpiece types etc. Each project can in turn contain sub-projects. A document or a part can, in principle, be assigned to several projects. The graphics files, however, exist only once.
In the Projects menu you can find functions for the creation, opening and editing of projects. If you click the icon, the main function, Activate project, will be called. If you click the arrow
below the icon, a pull-down menu with further functions will be displayed.
The following functions are available:
The functions largely correspond to the same-named HELiOS standard functions. Click here for detailed information on the Project functions.
PDM > Project > Activate project
Use this function to activate a project. Subsequently created drawings will then be assigned to this project.
When you call the function, the dialogue window for project search (PROJECT FIND) will be displayed.
Enter the search criteria and click Start search. You can also use * as wildcard character.
Found projects will be shown in a result list at the bottom of the dialogue. To activate a project, double-click the project, or mark it with a single click and select Apply.
PDM > Project > Project, New
Use this function to create a new project. When you call this function, the dialogue window for project data entry (PROJECT ENTER) will be displayed. Specify the project name and enter the desired project data.
Tip: Also fill in the Designation field, as this data is helpful for a later retrieval of projects.
PDM > Project > Project, Edit
Use this function to display the master data of a selected project and edit them as desired. When you call the function, the input mask for projects will be displayed.
The Document assignment and Part assignment tabs provide information about the documents (model drawings, production drawings etc.) and parts (assemblies, beams, plates etc.) which are linked to the active project.
