Enter Points

Point options are used for the creation, identification and positioning of parts. They can be regarded as sub-functions of all other functions. To activate a point, you first need to call a function which requires an object identification or a point specification.

You then have the following options:

Applying a point with the Autopilot.
Applying the current cursor position by left-clicking. In this case, the Autopilot must not display any snap points, irrespective of the selected mode! Alternatively, you can apply the current cursor position with the identically named function of the Point options menu.
Selecting an option from the Point options menu. You activate the menu by left-clicking.
Activating a numeric point option via the keyboard by entering the corresponding point option code.

Point options can also be nested. For example, you can

select the Relative coordinates point option,
then press the left mouse button to determine a new reference point, and then
determine the reference point using the Osculation point point option. The relative coordinates which will then be specified refer to this point.

The last point is always the point that was determined last within a function. It is marked on the screen by means of a cross and can immediately be applied as an auxiliary point for other point options using the Last point L point option.

Furthermore, the Last point L option is automatically used as a reference point for many point options. If this point does not exist, HiCAD asks you to specify a reference point instead.
