This function can be used to further simplify the HiCAD operation. This affects the following areas:

If the Save as default setting checkbox is active, the current settings are saved as the new default settings when you exit the dialogue window.

If the checkbox is not active, the settings only apply to the current HiCAD session.

Identification

HiCAD supports various identification modes that can be used to drastically reduce the number of mouse clicks required to execute a function and to significantly speed up construction. Select the default identification mode in the list box. Default: Object snap.

Sketches

If the value is set to Yes, you can right-click a surface to apply that surface as the sketch plane when creating sketches. Default: Yes

If the value is set to Yes, you are automatically requested to choose the sketch plane when creating a new sketch. Default: No

If the value is set to Yes, the base levels, i.e. the x-y, y-z and z-x planes of the world coordinate system, are also automatically displayed when you create new sketches - with a prompt for the sketch plane. Default: No

If the value is set to Yes, the sketch plane is rotated in parallel to the screen plane when a new sketch is created. Possible settings are

Default: No.

3-D Modelling

If the value is set to Yes, HiCAD automatically identifies main assemblies, assemblies and processed parts. This is particularly effective when creating detail drawings. HiCAD then checks, for example, for the Insert drawing frame function, whether the part is a main assembly and then, if the model view is active, asks whether you want to switch to the sheet area of the drawing. If the setting is set to No, this check is not performed. Default: No

If the value is set to Yes, model views are automatically rotated to the perspective for sketch processing  in the Preview  mode, e.g. when subtracting or when creating extruded solids. Default: No
