You can specify settings for automatic dimensioning in the Automatic dimensioning tab.

Dimension line offset from reference edge
Use this function to specify the distance between the dimension line and the edge to which the dimension line refers.

You can select the Automatic or As set option. In the first case, the dimension line is determined by the length of the edge in respective guidelines. In the second case you enter the required value in the appropriate input field.

Vertical rise triangles
This area of the dialogue box refers to a vertical, triangular rise symbol, whose the surface normal vector is perpendicular to the z-axis of the drawing coordinate system.

You can specify whether:

vertical triangles should be drawn,
the hypotenuse of the triangle should be dimensioned,
the triangle surface should be hatched. If yes, you can specify the spacing and angle of the lines, and
the edge parameter that should apply to the triangle..
Horizontal rise triangles
This area of the dialogue box refers to horizontal, triangular rise symbols, whose surface normal vector is in the direction of the z-axis of the drawing coordinate system. This type of triangle can only be activated if vertical rise triangles have also been activated. The setting options are similar to those for vertical triangles (see above).
Default
If you click this button, HiCAD sets default dimension parameter values in the dialogue box. These values are saved in the ANL3DBEM.DAT file in the \hicad\sys directory. This file can be processed with an Editor, e.g. Notepad. In addition, you can specify whether HiCAD should take over default parameter values or the values previously set in the dialogue box when you start HiCAD.
Line parameters
This option calls the line parameters settings mask (i.e. colour, line type, layer). These setting only influence rise triangles. Colour and layer settings also apply to hatching.

Select OK to take over the settings in the dialogue box. Select Cancel to undo all changes specified in the dialogue box.

Dimension types

Activate the appropriate checkboxes to specify the required type of dimensioning:

Part dimensions

The parts and components of the pipeline are dimensioned. One distinguishes between Dimensions for all parts and Dimensions for points of action.

Corner dimensions

The pipeline is dimensioned via its corner points.

Dimensions for points of action

The pipeline is dimensioned via certain points of action.
