Change Representation (PE)

This function enables you to, e.g. replace a part that was inserted, according to the setting, from part directories Parts3/Parts1, by the appropriate part contained in part directories Parts2/Part1 (i.e. solid body representation by hollow body representation or vice versa).

Proceed as follows:

1. Activate the Plant Engineering Settings function. Go to the Part insertion tab and select the appropriate part directory setting for the part to be inserted, e.g. Parts2/1: Hollow body + Symbols. Select OK to exit the dialogue box.
2. Call the Exchange part function.
3. Select the part whose representation you want to change.

Select the Same part (with connection processing), resp. Same part (without connection processing) exchange option. HiCAD deletes the selected part and replaces it with an appropriate part in the given representation.

If the part cannot be symmetrically rotated, HiCAD displays the Rotation angle menu, thus enabling you to turn the part until it is in the required position. When you select End to close the menu, the part is exchanged.
