Crosshairs (3-D)

3-D Standard > Tools > Crosshairs

The Crosshairs menu provides functions for the creation and deletion of crosshairs and surface axes for various 3-D elements.

Creates the crosshairs by

  • Specification of a boundary edge
  • Specification of a start point of the crosshairs (for the size)
Clicking opens a menu with the following functions:

Creates the crosshairs by

Specification of the centre point of the hole pattern

Identification of two adjacent bore circles

Creates the crosshairs by

  • identification of a circle/circular arc of the sphere/torus
  • specification of the start point of the crosshairs
  • if required, specification of another point of the crosshairs (sphere)
Axis, individual Example

Creates an axis by identification of a surface via two edges.

Delete axes/crosshairs

Individual

Deletes individual axes. Identify the desired axes.

Group

Deletes a crosshairs group. Identify one of the axes.

If, for example, you have identified one axis of the crosshairs of a sphere, all axes are deleted.

All in active part

Deletes all axes/crosshairs of the active part.

The Axis,Cylinder surface function creates the surface axis for a cylinder surface or for the polyhedral facet of a of a polyhedrised circular hole. It applies similarly to cones, toruses and spheres. The symmetry axes are created for the torus and cone and, for the torus, additionally also the centre circle (large radius).
