Sketch > New > ProcPlane
The creation of a sketch takes place in the current sketch plane. This sketch plane is placed in the active processing plane or - if no processing plane is available - in the XY-plane of the active coordinate system . Before you start creating a new sketch, you can define or activate another sketch plane.
Use the Set new processing plane, via surface or 2 edges to define a new plane by using arbitrary points edges, surfaces or planes. The procedure is the same as for the creation of processing planes.
Clicking opens a menu with further functions for sketch planes:
|
Set new processing plane - Via 3 points Defines a sketch plane via specification of 3 points. The first point is the local origin, the second point is a point on the x-axis and the third point is a point on the y-axis. |
|
Set new processing plane - Via edge and point Defines the sketch plane via selection of one edge and one point. The edge defines the x-axis, the point is a point on the y-axis. |
|
Set new processing plane - Perpendicular to edge Creates the sketch plane perpendicular to the identified edge. |
|
Set new processing plane- XY coordinate plane Places the sketch plane in the XY-plane of the active coordinate system. |

New origin

Rotate Rotates the sketch plane by specification of a rotation angle. The local coordinate system as well as the representation of the plane frame are also rotated during the process. |

Delete plane, Individual Deletes individual, identified processing planes. |
![]() |
Delete plane, Active plane Deletes only the currently active processing plane. |
![]() |
Delete plane, All inactive Deletes all inactive processing planes. |
![]() |
Delete plane, All Deletes all processing planes in the drawing. |
Sketch planes are no processing planes! This means in particular that you cannot apply the functions of the Processing planes
menu to sketch planes. The sketch plane is directly linked to the geometry of the corresponding sketch and cannot be deleted separately!
