Projection onto Plane (Sketch)

Sketch > Derive > Proj. > Projection onto plane...

Use these functions to create projections of composite edges onto arbitrary planes. The projection can be vertical, oblique, with or without track. If you choose to create the projection with track, the support points of the original c-edge will be linearly connected to those of the projection. The default setting is Vertical projection and Without track .

Proceed as follows:

  1. If required, specify the projection settings.
  1. Define the projection plane via

identification of 2 edges

identification of one edge and one point

specification of 3 points

specification of a surface by identification of two edges. The plane will then be determined through the normal vectors.

  1. Use the functions of the vector menu to define the displacement vector.  This step is only required for oblique projections!
  2. Identify the c-edge.
