Approximate C-Edges (3-D)

Sketch > Derive > Proj. > Approximate

You use this function to approximate circles, ellipses and splines of a composite edge.

The approximation can be made by means of polylines, continuous circular arcs or splines - each with a predefined tolerance.

The pre-setting for the approximation method is made using the Approximate: Settings function. The default setting is approximation by means of continuous circular arcs, with only ellipses and splines being approximated.

Sketch > Derive > Proj. > Approximate: Settings

You define the parameters for the approximation here. Three modes of approximation are available for selection:

3-D Polyline

Arcs (Default)

B-Spline

The selected setting is marked by means of a coloured symbol. In addition, you can enter the tolerance for the approximation in the Accuracy field. The default value is 0.1.

Apply the current settings. These settings are taken into account when you next call the 3-D Section or Section, in screen plane functions.

Cancel the function without changing the default settings.

Execute action, i.e. transfer the current settings and directly call the Approximate function.

The settings selected here only apply to the current HiCAD session. To change the settings permanently, you must adjust the file KZUGPRE.DAT in the HiCAD SYS directory accordingly.
