Part from Referenced Part (3-D)

You can use the Part from referenced part function to insert referenced parts existing in the current 3-D drawing as new main parts or sub-parts.

In contrast to other insert functions for referenced parts, the new part is not saved as referenced in the part structure of the current drawing, but only in the feature log. In this log, a feature by the name of referenced base part is created.

All subsequent changes to this referenced base part – e.g. creating bores, mirroring or scaling are included in the log as new features.

If the referenced original part changes, the corresponding referenced base part is generally updated first when the feature log is recalculated, and only afterwards are the other actions of the feature log applied to the updated part.

Conversely, changes to a referenced base part in the feature do not affect the corresponding original part.
