Create and Edit Sheet Areas (3-D)

In the sheet area the production drawings are displayed. Production drawings can also be output on several sheets if you define several sheet areas.

Create a new sheet area

  1. In the ICN, right-click the name of the active sheet area Sheetn.
  2. In the context menu, choose the Sheet area, new function . HiCAD automatically creates a new sheet area with the next free sheet number.
  3. Right-click the name of the new sheet area.
  4. Choose the New view function to define an initial view for the sheet area. The customary view functions are then available to you for processing.

Please note that the Sheet area, New function is only available if a sheet view is active. Therefore, activate a sheet view beforehand or right-click the Sheetn entry and choose the Activate function.

Edit a sheet area

A sheet area is always the active sheet area. This is the sheet area containing the currently active view. In the ICN, this view is displayed in red.

To process a sheet area, you first need to activate it.

  1. Right-click the relevant name.
  2. Choose the Activate function. Alternatively, in the ICN you can also simply click one of the views of the sheet area.
  3. Right-click the name of the active sheet area to activate the context menu containing the processing functions.

The context menu's other functions correspond to the functions of the Views tab.
