Linear Dimensions (2-D)

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Parallel > Linear dimension, axially parallel

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Direct > Linear dimension > Individual dimension, variable

Linear dimensions are created by identifying the start point and end point of a line and a third point with respect to the point for position determination of the dimension line and dimension figure. With variable dimensioning, a line can also be identified for the 1st and 2nd point. This then gives rise to angular dimensioning.
