Reference Part, Save, Detail Drawing (HICADPDM)

This function enables you to transfer single parts from an active drawing to the database.

If you call the function, it will first be checked whether drawings have been saved in HELiOS which are already linked to the part. If this is the case, these drawings can be loaded. In the field Part or Detail drawing, you determine the saving mode for the graphic files. They can be saved as .FIG file (2-D figure), as .KRP file (3-D body) or as .SZN file (HiCAD drawing).

Options:

Save as part	Use this function to save the graphic as .FIG file (2-D), respectively .KRP file (3-D).
Save as detail drawing	Use this function to save the part as a detail drawing (.SZN). Depending on which Save option you selected, the appropriate document master and part master input masks (DOCUMENTENTER, PARTENTER), respectively part search masks (PARTFIND) will be displayed. If the relevant part is the 3-D main part of the drawing, you will be prompted to specify before drawing generation whether the drawing is to be created in sheet area 1 of the active drawing.
Save as detail drawing, with options	Use this function to save the part as detail drawing with the file extension .SZA. In contrast to the previous option you are enabled to specify additional settings here, such as number and type of the saved views, the required coordinate system etc. If the relevant part is the 3-D main part of the drawing, you will be prompted to specify before drawing generation whether the drawing is to be created in sheet area 1 of the active drawing.

In the Storage location field you can further specify the storage in the database: As document and/or part, with or without master data.

... without part master	The part is not BOM-relevant, therefore no part master will be required. The part will be saved as a document.
... with new part master	A new part master and a document master will be created and linked to each other automatically during saving.
... assign part master	An existing part master will be assigned via the part search function and a new document master will be created. Part master and document master will be linked to each other.
... take over part master	The part has already a part master. The part master will be taken over and a new document master will be created. Part master and document master will be linked to each other. This option is only available if a part master has already been created for the part.

For the document master you can choose between the following two options in the DB Document master for part field:

Specify document master for part	The document input mask (DOCUMENT ENTER) will be displayed.
Generate document master for part	The document master will automatically be generated by HiCAD.

Please note:

If you save a part with part master to the HELiOS database, you can freely choose the link type. By default, a Part <-> Part geometry link will be created between the part (part master) and the body, respectively figure; when creating a detail drawing, a Part geometry <-> Drawing link will be established between the detail drawing and the entire drawing.
The underlying link is determined in the HiCAD variable. You can change it in the HELiOS Desktop with the configuration.
The newly created part master, as well as the newly created document masters for part document and drawing document can be given default values or the part attributes of the part.
