Depending the configuration of the purchased HiCAD product, appropriate Standard Part Catalogues are available to the user. These are located in the CATALOGUES folder, which is a sub-folder of the HiCAD program folder. This folder contains all standard parts, sheets+plates, beams+profiles, standard processings etc. The folder is in turn subdivided into several sub-folders containing various part categories, e.g. FASTENERS (bolts+screws, nuts etc.) or SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCTS (beams+profiles, plates, gratings etc.). Possibly you will only require some of these standard parts, and it may also happen that standard parts with particular dimensions are not available. The HiCAD Catalogue Editor provides the perfect tool for such use cases.
The HiCAD Catalogue Editor is an external program enabling you to process the standard part and beam/profile catalogues supplied with HiCAD, as well as user-defined catalogues.
You start the Catalogue Editor as follows:
Please note: You require administrator rights on your computer to be able to work with the Catalogue Editor.
Performance Overview
You are enabled, for example, to determine the embossings as main or sub parts, to complete block standard parts for the use in HiCAD, to fit further standard parts or to change the files of existing standard parts.
2-D, 3-D parts, assemblies, prototype beams+profiles, variants, materials and macros can be saved directly from the HiCAD drawing to individual catalogues. These user-specific catalogues can be created, managed and processed with the Catalogue Editor. You can then access these catalogue objects in HiCAD - as you would do for the fitting of standard parts - via a photo-like selection system.
Use the Import/Export functions to exchange your catalogues with those of other users, and adjust them accordingly.
The Catalogue Editor enables you to assign part master data of the PDM system HELiOS to items of standard part or beam/profile catalogues.
When inserting standard parts and semi-finished products (beams and plates) from the catalogues in HiCAD, the values from the catalogue items will be directly assigned to various attributes. This assignment is freely configurable.
